Olivier Gergaud

Bio: 

Olivier Gergaud is a Professor of Economics at Kedge Business School, Adjunct Professor at New York University and at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Reims and an accreditation to supervise research from Sciences Po Paris. His research interests include food and beverage economics, wine economics, cultural economics and the economics of voting. He has been a Visiting Professor at several universities in Europe (Sciences Po, Université Libre de Bruxelles), North America (NYU, UCLA, HEC Montreal) and Oceania (University of Canterbury). He has received several academic awards, including the Duncan Black Prize for the best article published in 2019 by a senior scholar in Public Choice, the President's Prize at the 12th International Conference of the Association for Cultural Economics International (ACEI), and a certificate of merit for his Ph.D. from the French Economic Association in 2000. He is also the co-founder of the Alliance for Research on Wine & Hospitality Management. Olivier Gergaud has published 40 academic articles in leading journals. He is a regular columnist for Le Monde and has received extensive media coverage for his research. Last, Olivier is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Wine Economics and is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Prediction Markets.
